From An Author I Greatly Admire

It is a great honor to have your book labeled 'a silly adventure' when you are a silly-adventure writer.

An author I greatly admire, Mark Simon Smith, who writes amazing fantasy, silly adventure kids books has reviewed my book, Sir Princess Petra – The Pen Pieyu Adventure, a  fantasy, silly adventure kids book.

By Mark Smith “Children’s Book Author”

This review is from: Sir Princess Petra (Pen Pieyu Adventures) (Perfect Paperback)
As an author, I greatly appreciate the whimsical qualities of Diane Mae Robinson’s work. Often times, it’s not enough to have a solid, well-written story when it comes to creating children’s books. There needs to be a bright sparkle that captures the child’s attention and pulls them along. So many times I’ve watched my son start a book and then put it down, just a few pages in, because there was no flash of color that kept him interested.
Robinson’s writing has it all and is a perfect read for that younger reader striking out on their own. I love her vivid descriptions and laugh-out-loud whimsy – it’s the exact same thing I strive to accomplish when writing.
Highly recommended.

Recently, I read and reviewed Mark Simon Smith’s book, Sir Nathan and the Quest for Queen Gobbledeegook. I became an instant fan. This book is the best children’s book I have read in many, many years–and believe me, I read a lot of children’s books.http://www.dianemaerobinson.com/2012/11/book-review-sir-nathan-and-quest-for.html
Mark Simon Smith’s perfected writing and zany humor captures the reader in the first paragraph and takes them on a wonderful, incredible adventure that you don’t want to end. That is what a good book is all about!
I have received his second book, Sir Nathan and the Troublesome Task, and can’t wait to start it during the holidays. I will put up a review of this book, also.

  1. If I had not reviewed both your book and Mark's I'd say there was some writer hanky-papering going on here.

I'm glad he saw the whimsical in your writing. I sure see it/read it in you. I am anxiously awaiting your second installment of Pen Pieyu.

Oh, thanks for spelling it that way. I can remember it by thinking pie - yu. It helps to be able to write a title several times in a (okay, my) review without having to find the book every time. I usually find it not on the desk I am at, but on the floor several rooms over, even when I had laid it down, on the desk, not two minutes prior. There is something about fantasy books that keep them jumping all over the place when not being read. Least that is what I have found with your books and Mark's books.

You should review more, when you get the time off from writing. Your reviews are spot on and well-written, but then they should be -- you are an AWARD-WINNING author, by golly!

    1. I love Mark Simon Smith's writing. After I read his fist book, I wrote to him and told him that if Sir Nathan ever
met up with Sir Petra, what a team they would be. And the adventures, oh my!

Mr. Smith sent me his second book and it's just as funny. I will review that in the near future.

Thank you for the compliment on my reviewing. I'm just a beginner, but everything I've learned, I've learned from my favorite reviewer, Sue Morris, at Kids Lit Reviews.
She has the best children's book reviews.

    1. Well, the thing is; on my blogger site, the dashes will not revert to hash tags--but when I post the dashes here, they do turn into hash tags.

  4. The fantasy story is not only interesting but also it show the imagination beyond the imagination. This kind of story mainly consist of supernatural thing such as vampires, Frankenstein, dragons and many more, which tends to imagine the reader also, this kind of stories are written for the fun and excitement many of these story are then converted to moving picture such as lord of the ring.

    1. Hi there,J.John.

Thanks for stopping by and reading my blog. Yes, I love fantasy stories the best, ever since I read Lord of the Rings many years ago. Anything can happen in a fantasy--that's what makes them so compelling.
